When Accidents Become a Blessing by Care’n Mooney

Life itself could actually be called an accident. Our very existence is a result of two people getting together and we all know about birds and bees. I personally am happy to be the result of an accident, and we’ll call that a blessing.

Because energy is in constant motions accidents are bound to occur leaving us with an unplanned, Unexplainable, and undesirable chain of events. These accidents seem to happen at the most unpredictable times and truly the most inopportune times. They can bring us to a complete halt, literally stopping us in our tracks, changing our hearts, our minds, our plans and dreams in a split second. So why do they occur?

Accidents seemed to show up and completely interrupt the flow of our daily life. They can shatter an idea or a plan that we have given so much time and effort to. Perhaps they are of allowing us to literally stop and reevaluate. Maybe we are on a collision course with something that would be more devastating than the accident that we are experiencing.

While I was out of town preparing myself to begin a meditation group, concentrating on reconnecting with my spiritual and divine inner self I received a phone call. The fire firmly but gently said to me, your dad is OK, but your house burned down. Believe me, that can be a life-altering experience and certainly one that I had never expected. The friend that I was visiting in Payson was married to an incredible contractor. I had seen his work and had actually thought that someday he would build me my castle.

When we came back and we saw the devastation of my roofless house and the smoke still circling through what used to be a roof and now evaporating into the air. This certainly was going to be changing my life in unexpected ways. I had always wanted to build a healing center and perhaps this was the beginning of a new dream.

A year later my house Was being rebuilt at twice its size and now I have a room in which I can seat 40 people and teach. So as the Phoenix was able to rise, what was once a small track home became a sanctuary for teaching and healing.

When the unexpected, untimed, an unwanted interrupt your life and disrupts the flow of your normal routine It can bring attention to a situation that maybe we have overlooked or set aside to address later.

When Marie Curie Was moving things around in her lab and accidentally knocked over a solution she discovered X rays. Penicillin was a mold that is leftover food and became the salvation for thousands of people. The light bulb and the telephone were also products of long hours and great frustration and then accidentally became a reality.

Have you ever on occasion been taking your favorite route somewhere and for some reason had to detour. In frustration you irritated from this delay and later that at that particular time that you would have been taking this route There was a situation that would have resulted in a very disastrous situation for you.

Sometimes it takes years before we can see that some timed situation was actually a blessing in disguise. That job that you had worked so hard to acquire and at the last minute it fell apart. Later you find at the company went bankrupt and everybody that worked there lost everything.

So when you are faced with the situation that seems overwhelming and out of the blue Take the time to reflect That it could be very possible that this unexpected an unwanted event may have actually prevented A situation that would have been a lot less tolerable and more devastating.

Every Tuesday evening, I host a heart-centered meditation at my center in Mesa, Arizona, which I call the Open-Heart Meditation.
