Breaking Free - Clearing, Cleaning, and Overcoming Blocks by Care’n Mooney

There is a time for accumulation.
There is a time for elimination.
Nature shows us both. There is a time for conception, light, nourishment, and water, to help us grow, give birth to a new season, and then gently let go. We keep the gift of knowing and release the rest.
We cannot make room for new blessings to flourish if we are packed to the brim with old thoughts, others’ expectations, and unnecessary emotions like worry, guilt, regret, sorrow, and fear. Let each experience nudge you toward a new discovery and then let it go.
I’m once again enjoying the synchronicities of life. In the beauty of this messy, chaotic, up-and-down world we’ve joined, there comes a season for deep, deep cleaning, both physical and metaphysical.
My grandmother used to repeat a phrase she believed would motivate me to clean my room: “Cleanliness is next to godliness.” I’ll admit, I wasn’t always interested in cleanliness, and her cherished saying didn’t quite have the effect she hoped.
Yet, there’s truth in that statement. When we finally desire to “clean house” and release our dark, negative shadows, we discover that in cleanliness, the light shines brighter, and we reconnect with the divine.
We routinely care for our daily lives: brushing our teeth, eating, sleeping, working. But how often do we check in with our inner world?
Are we living in the now?
Are we impeccable with our speech?
Do we make assumptions?
Are we doing our best?
Are we taking things personally?
When was the last time you meditated? Took a walk in nature? Did something to inspire yourself, or someone else? Are you consciously attempting to live a more authentic life? You can attain this by clearing out the cobwebs, releasing old ideas, and overcoming the blocks that keep you from your higher self.
Clearing physical clutter creates space to think clearly. Bring in conscious meditation. Turn off the news, the media, and the flood of advertisements.
I took this literally over the past few weeks. I removed all the accumulated clutter from my home. This led me to move furniture and re-service my floors. My body may not be thrilled, but the energy is alive, healthy, free-flowing, and invigorating.
You’ll feel the difference too, when you let go of items that no longer support your authentic self. With each clean room shining back at me, I’m consciously letting go of the neediness, the want, and the grip of the past.
We often hold onto old ideas and clutter “just in case” we need to revisit the same emotion again. But freedom lies in letting go.
Let yourself grow. Learn from new perceptions. Resolve old patterns in a new light.
This evolution, this clearing, cleansing, and releasing, is about shedding what no longer serves us. Our shadows aren’t here to inflict pain. They’re here to guide us into the light and help us do some internal housecleaning.
Here’s how I return to my authentic self:
I simplify my food intake.
I immerse myself in nature, it brings deep peace.
I check in to ensure I’m using the tools I have to live authentically.
I increase mindful meditation through:
Sitting in my garden
Mindful walking
Listening to calming music
And most importantly, being silent and listening to my soul
No matter where you are on your spiritual path, we all need to consciously clean house, clear the cobwebs, and reconnect to the source that brings us inner peace. Release what no longer serves you. Let the light in. And allow yourself to bloom.

Every Tuesday evening, I host a heart-centered meditation at my center in Mesa, Arizona, which I call the Open-Heart Meditation. During this session, I guide the group into the depths of our heart’s center, filling it with joy as we allow it to expand and vibrate faster and faster. Through this practice, we embrace our true essence as beings of light.
